At the end of 2019, the company began operating in Murmansk, Krasnodar, Yekaterinburg, Kazan and Novosibirsk. In October 2020, the company suspended operations in those five cities. Legally the company is called OOO "GF Trade" and is owned by the Cyprus offshore entity "Vinda Limited". In February 2019, blogger Alexander Yaskevich subscribed to Grow Food but later decided to cancel early, for which the company demanded a 3,000-ruble penalty. After Yaskevich said he would publicize the penalty incident on his social media, Grow Food dropped its demand. According to Yaskevich, the company feared the promised exposure of "customer deception," and an ordinary customer would have been fined in such a situation. Grow Food marketer Semyon Efimov responded that the penalty condition for early cancellation is part of the public offer and is entirely legal. According to him, the company accommodated the dissatisfied customer and canceled the penalty without connection to his public activity.
