History
Guangxi Shenglong Metallurgical Co., Ltd. was founded in 2003, when Fujian-origin entrepreneurs responded to the Party and state's call for the "Western Development" campaign and invested to establish the company in Fangchenggang. It was introduced under the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region government's "Hundred Enterprises Enter Guangxi" strategy. The company has since developed into a large-scale, modern, internationalized and informationized ten-million-ton steel joint enterprise. It has ranked among the top of Guangxi's top 100 private enterprises since 2011, entered the China Top 500 Enterprises from 2016, was rated an A-grade (especially strong) Chinese steel enterprise for competitiveness (and development quality) in 2020, and joined the global top 50 steel enterprises in 2021. Its main plant covers more than 8,000 mu with over 12,000 employees; in 2025 it reported annual steel output of 17 million tons and operating revenue of 111 billion yuan, with cumulative tax payments exceeding ten billion yuan. From 2017 to 2023, following the principles of "ultra-low emissions, low energy consumption" and "high starting point, high standard, high configuration," the company self-funded more than 40 billion yuan for industrial upgrading and technical transformation, transitioning from construction materials to industrial plates, and passed the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's "green factory" review at the end of 2021. In April 2022, the world's first 145MW ultra-high-temperature ultra-high-pressure gas power generating unit was officially put into operation.
