History
Hügli's roots go back to 1935. Beat Stoffel founded the Hügli company; company manager and developer Otto Hügli was allowed to give the company his name. This laid the foundation for a long success story that began with a pioneering achievement: "Brodox", the first industrially produced bouillon cube. In 1936, sales of ready-to-cook soups began. In 1959, Hügli founded its first subsidiary in Hard, Austria, and then bought the Radolf-Werke in Radolfzell in the 1960s; today, the largest production site of the company group is located there. In 1974, Hügli moved from Arbon to the neighbouring village of Steinach, the current headquarters of the Hügli Group. From 2000 onwards, Hügli expanded into various European countries and grew through the acquisition of new companies: Bonita in Zasmuky CZ, Interplaning in Neuburg DE, Supro in St. Gallen CH, Ali-Big in Brivio IT, Contract Foods in Redditch UK, Bresc in Werkendam NL. In addition, Hügli acquired brands such as Vogeley, EDEN and granoVita. In 2018, Hügli became a business unit of the Bell Food Group, which is listed on the Swiss stock exchange.
