Founded in 1901 by Ferdinand Heine in Stuttgart, the company moved its headquarters to Fellbach in 1950 and has grown into one of Germany's leading distributors of high-quality steel products and tailored material solutions. The group operates under the umbrella brand H+B and describes itself as combining tradition and innovation in the heart of the steel trade, with more than a century of experience. The company's product range covers over 25,000 articles in the bar and long-products segment, including free-cutting steel, bright steel, unalloyed steel, special engineering steel, high-speed steel, stainless steel, rolled steel, tool steel, HSQ machining steel, brass, aluminium and copper. Its main customer markets are the machining industry, automotive suppliers and manufacturers, mechanical engineering and many other metal-processing producers. Alongside pure trading, Heine + Beisswenger offers a broad portfolio of services along the value chain: sawing, end machining (chamfering/centring), aluminium cut-to-size plates, heat treatment, materials testing, re-stamping, deburring, surface treatment and marking. The company also provides material management and digital logistics solutions, and since 2014 has offered customer-specific production solutions under Industry 4.0 principles through H+B Hightech GmbH. The group has expanded through acquisitions, including Otto Prawitt GmbH & Co. KG in 2007, Bühler Stahl- und Metallservice GmbH + Co. KG in 2009, Rotec GmbH in 2011, and Hahn + Keller Brennschneideservice GmbH in 2013. History
Heine + Beisswenger was founded in 1901 by Ferdinand Heine in Stuttgart as a trading company for engineering materials. In 1950 the company relocated its headquarters to Fellbach, where its main house with administration, sawing centre and central warehouse remains today. Over the following decades it established itself as a specialist distributor of long steel products, serving the machining industry, automotive suppliers and manufacturers, mechanical engineering and other metal-processing sectors. From the 2000s the group expanded through targeted acquisitions. In 2007 it took over Otto Prawitt GmbH & Co. KG in Velbert and Plettenberg. In April 2009 it acquired Bühler Stahl- und Metallservice GmbH + Co. KG in Pforzheim. In 2011 it purchased Rotec GmbH in Hermaringen. In May 2012 it founded the subsidiary Heine Steel in Deventer, Netherlands, although that operation was discontinued as of 31 December 2020. In 2013 it acquired Hahn + Keller Brennschneideservice GmbH in Neuhausen auf den Fildern, which also ceased operations at the end of 2019. In 2014 the group founded H+B Hightech GmbH in Adelmannsfelden, extending its activities into customer-specific production solutions aligned with Industry 4.0 principles. Further structural changes followed. Bühler Stahl- und Metallservice GmbH & Co. KG, previously a wholly owned subsidiary, was integrated into Heine + Beisswenger Stiftung + Co. KG as the Pforzheim branch on 1 November 2021. On 1 January 2022 the Heine + Beisswenger Group acquired all shares held by Andernach & Bleck of Hagen in Heine & Bleck GmbH in Hermsdorf, Thuringia. Today the group operates its main site in Fellbach plus branches in Trossingen, Elsendorf, Langenzenn, Dieburg and Lemwerder, and subsidiary locations in Adelmannsfelden, Hermaringen, Hermsdorf, Plettenberg and Velbert. Its product range covers more than 25,000 articles in the bar and long-products segment, and its services span sawing, end machining, aluminium cutting, heat treatment, materials testing, re-stamping, surface treatment, marking, material management and digital logistics.
