Heinrich Böll Stiftung Rheinland-Pfalz

The Heinrich Böll Stiftung Rheinland-Pfalz is the Green-affiliated foundation for political education in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate, based in Mainz. It is part of a nationwide federal foundation network consisting of 16 independent state foundations and one federal foundation. Its task as a political foundation is to promote democracy through political education, contributing to social change that fosters social justice in the present while preserving the chance of a livable environment and future for coming generations. Equality of people regardless of gender, sexual orientation, or origin is a permanent cross-cutting principle of its work. It pursues this emancipatory approach through various measures in political education such as seminars, lectures, workshops, and publications. It is traditionally especially active in the areas of migration policy, gender democracy, environmental education, and social policy. Its structures are grassroots-democratic: the members' assembly is formed by currently 24 education and culture associations based in Rhineland-Palatinate and by individuals proposed by Bündnis 90/Die Grünen.
