Henan TV's "Qixi Wonderful Tour" Accused of Unauthorized Use of Illustrations; Team Apologizes and Settles

In August 2021, the illustrator "Shi Xueyu a" alleged that Henan TV's "Qixi Wonderful Tour" used her works including "Niulang and Zhinü" before authorization was agreed. The production team apologized overnight, saying the quotation had been miscommunicated and that the producer was unaware of the lack of authorization, and later reached an understanding with the original author. Commentaries in The Beijing News and elsewhere noted that internal communication failures cannot change the fact of unauthorized use. Progress: company response. Entity involved: Henan Radio and Television Station Satellite Channel. Scope: television program copyright dispute.
