Jiayuan Chemical accused of secret discharge polluting village
In 2013, Hengdian Group's Jiayuan Chemical was accused by villagers of Jinzhai Village of secretly discharging black water and acid water at night, polluting the Nanjiang River. The environmental protection bureau denied the claims, but reporters at the scene found a discharge outlet and waste packaging washing operations. No penalty result was seen.

Member company cited by environment ministry for cross-province dumping of hazardous waste
Hengdian Group member company 普洛得邦制药 entrusted unqualified persons to dump 1,047 barrels of hazardous waste across provinces in Guoyang and Lixin, Bozhou, Anhui. The Ministry of Environmental Protection notified the case; Zhejiang environmental authorities fined it RMB 250,000, the company paid RMB 2.2 million in compensation, and the responsible person was convicted of the crime of major environmental pollution accident. It became a typical cross-province dumping case.
