Hextar Global Berhad

Hextar Global Berhad is a Malaysian investment holding company. Its group traces its origins to Halex (M) Sdn Bhd, a trading company founded in 1980 specialising in the import and distribution of agrochemical and fertiliser products. Halex Holdings Sdn Bhd was incorporated in Malaysia on 13 October 1990 as a private limited company, converted to a public limited company on 11 January 2007, and listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Bhd on 16 September 2009. With effect from 29 May 2019 the company changed its name to Hextar Global Berhad. The group describes itself as maintaining its core business in agrochemicals while expanding and diversifying across chemicals, industrial, energy and consumer segments.

The Hextar Global group began in 1980 with Halex (M) Sdn Bhd, a trading company specialising in the import and distribution of agrochemical and fertiliser products. Halex Holdings Sdn Bhd was incorporated in Malaysia on 13 October 1990 as a private limited company and was converted to a public limited company on 11 January 2007, facilitating its listing on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Bhd on 16 September 2009. The group states that it has expanded and diversified towards its main subsidiaries while still maintaining its core business in agrochemicals. Its stated history also records the commencement of a horticulture business in 1990, commercialisation of pineapple-shaped Millennium Plants in 2005, commercialisation of baby wipes and tissue products under the TenderSoft brand in 2006, innovation of a motorised power sprayer to deliver Dipel® ES biological insecticides in 2007, and the launch of Ohsin® 20WP in Malaysia from Mitsui Chemicals, Inc., Japan in 2008.
