Products and positioning

A door-area specialist automotive equipment manufacturer with world-top-class share in side door latches and back door latches, and a pioneer of door electrification.

  • Side door latch

A mechanism component that firmly holds the side door to the vehicle body, a flagship product with world-top-class share. It is compact and lightweight while possessing strength capable of lifting more than two automobiles (tensile strength 30,000N or more). In a collision, it keeps the vehicle body and door integrated, ensuring occupant safety.

  • Check link

A holding component that stops the door at a fixed position when opened. Available in spring type and rubber type, it can create ease of opening and closing.

  • Side door hinge

A holding component that supports the door and enables opening and closing. Together with the side door latch, it firmly holds the door to the vehicle body, and together with the check link, it plays a role in smoothly opening and closing the door.

  • Back door latch

A mechanism component that firmly holds the back door to the vehicle body, a flagship product with world-top-class share. The company continues to evolve back door latches to meet the needs of the times. The first evolution was a closer to quietly close the back door from half-open to fully closed. This development matched the hidden need of ambulance crews that closing the door strongly would cause a sudden rise in the blood pressure of transported patients, and was adopted for ambulances. Currently, the lineup includes closer type, electric release type, and manual type. Sizes are also available according to vehicle size, such as for small cars and medium/large cars.

  • Power slide door system

A system product that electrically opens and closes the slide door. Hi-Lex ACT is a pioneer manufacturer of door electrification, having introduced the power slide door system to the Japanese market in the 1980s. By controlling the door to move at a constant speed, it enables safe opening and closing even on slopes. It is designed to automatically reverse the door when an obstacle is detected, so small children can get on and off with peace of mind. It also offers an auto step that interlocks with the movement of the power slide door system to make it easier to get on and off vehicles with high floors.

  • Power back door system

A system product that electrically opens and closes the back door. Hi-Lex ACT introduced the power back door system to the Japanese market in the early 2000s. SUVs, which have been popular in recent years, have high vehicle height, and it is difficult for women and children to open and close the back door. With Hi-Lex ACT's proprietary door electrification unit and microcomputer control that safely moves the door at a constant speed, the door opens and closes smoothly with a light touch of a switch. Safety is also ensured by an anti-pinch sensor.

  • Hood latch

A mechanism component for fixing the hood that covers the engine room to the vehicle body. It plays an important role in preventing the hood from opening while driving. Since it is attached in the harsh engine room exposed to high temperatures and rainwater, it is designed to demonstrate stable performance even under severe environments.

  • Seat back latch

A seat component that fixes the rear seat to the vehicle body and keeps the seat angle constant. The lineup includes a 'single type' that can hold the seat at a constant angle and a 'two-stage type' that combines the convenience and comfort of securing cargo space and adjusting the seat angle in two stages.

  • Trunk latch

A mechanism component for fixing the trunk to the vehicle body.
