Overview

High Fiber Productions (Hebrew: היי פייבר הפקות) is an Israeli independent record label founded in 2004 by Nimrod Dweik, a member of the hip hop group Parvarim Refugees. The label was established to provide a home for Israeli street music that its founders felt no existing Israeli record company would represent. Its core genres are hip hop, punk rock, ska and electronic music. In its early years the label also produced events and handled booking, operating in Israel and Europe. Its productions gave mainstream stages to the metal, punk rock and hip hop scenes, including stages at Ir HaBira in 2006–2007, Motorola Motomusic, and festivals such as Boombamela. Among its artists, the ska-punk band Keuven B toured Europe in 2007. In 2008 the label released Punkrock.co.il, described as the first Israeli punk rock compilation, accompanied by an online magazine that ran for a year and covered the Israeli punk rock scene. The compilation was released in Israel and Japan. In 2009 the label announced it would scale down its activities and move to music distribution only. In recent years it has significantly promoted the Israeli hip hop scene, with artists including Ortega, Lukach, Noa Faran, Peled, Nechi Nech, Shiri Ladeski and others. Other acts associated with the label include punk rock band Man Alive, pop punk band Beat69, and hardcore techno artist VndrShmkn, later producer Gad Baruch Chinkis, frontman of Dirty Honkers. The label is represented by PIL, the Israeli Federation of Israeli and Mediterranean Music, and its artists are distributed digitally worldwide. During its activity the label also published and distributed several comic books and produced comic markets.
