Overview

Hikari Holdings Co., Ltd. (株式会社ひかりホールディングス) is a Japanese pure holding company headquartered in Kasahara-cho, Tajimi, Gifu Prefecture. It was established in September 2015 to consolidate a family-rooted group of tile and building-materials businesses under a single holding structure, and it listed its shares on the Tokyo Stock Exchange's TOKYO PRO Market in May 2018. The company describes its mission as building the "strongest group of small and medium-sized enterprises" and contributing to society, and it positions itself as an integrated organization that covers the tile value chain "from upstream to downstream." The group's roots go back to 1969, when Kurachi Tiles Shokai (倉地タイル商会) was founded. That business was incorporated in 2001 as Hikari Kogei Co., Ltd., and under the second-generation leadership of Takeru Kurachi it expanded through a series of acquisitions and new company formations. Hikari Holdings itself was registered in September 2015, bringing Hikari Kogei, Keiz Craft and Novel Stone Japan under one umbrella. It subsequently acquired or established Try (now M8I), Ceramic One, Smart Brick, Miyagawa Tokyo, Honda-gumi and Kobayashi Kogyo, and in June 2023 it acquired Kiryu Co., Ltd. After a major group reorganization in 2021, the number of consolidated subsidiaries was reduced from a peak of eleven to seven as of August 2024. The group's business lines include tile and stone processing and sales, building materials, tiling and renovation works, tile and imported building-material distribution, the "Profort" business, telecommunications engineering, civil engineering and comprehensive renovation. Its tile and brick processing operation is described as one of the largest in Japan by capacity, and the group imports quality and low-cost tiles and building materials from around the world for the Japanese market. It also entered the telecommunications business, drawn by the evolving communications market. Hikari Holdings is led by President and Representative Director Takeru Kurachi. Its headquarters are in Tajimi, Gifu, with a Kanto branch in Minami-ku, Saitama City. The company's fiscal year ends in August, and its main banks are Ogaki Kyoritsu Bank and Juroku Bank. It operates as a holding company providing management guidance to its consolidated subsidiaries.

(エムエイトアイ株式会社). In September 2022 Hikari Holdings took over a business transfer from M8I and brought Kobayashi Kogyo under its holding structure.
