Historický časopis

Historický časopis is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal primarily focused on Central European history with an emphasis on the Slovak and Czech-Slovak context. It is published by the Institute of History of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, v. v. i., and is guided by a domestic and international editorial board. The journal is open to all opinions, directions, schools, and thematic areas provided they are based on serious research and processed in accordance with the basic principles of historical science. It does not programmatically prefer any period, topic, or segment of history and supports interdisciplinary overlaps (sociology, political science, art, literature and music history, philosophy of history, etc.). It is published five times a year, with at least one issue being monothematic and the fifth issue of the year being in English. It publishes studies, annotated documents, reviews, polemics, and various informational texts, with an emphasis on original author contributions based on primary research. The journal publishes contributions in Slovak, Czech, and English. It appears in both print and electronic form and is an Open Access journal according to the BOAI definition.
