Overview
Hoei Sangyo Co., Ltd. (豊永産業株式会社) is a Japanese company based in Osaka that designs, manufactures, installs and operates amusement-park rides and leisure facilities. Founded in October 1963 and incorporated in March 1967, it has built a business spanning the planning and design of amusement parks and leisure lands, the design, fabrication and installation of amusement machinery, direct and commissioned operation of amusement facilities, and the import and export of such equipment. Its registered activities also include pavilion and amusement equipment for expositions, industrial machinery design and construction, and related services. The company is best known for its ride-manufacturing heritage: it designed and built the "Wonder Wheel," described as Japan's largest Ferris wheel at the time, for the 1970 Japan World Exposition (Expo '70). It also produces roller coasters, Ferris wheels and miniature trains, and in 2018 co-developed the racing coaster "DUEL GP" with Mobilityland. Alongside manufacturing, Hoei Sangyo operates amusement facilities. It directly runs the Oyamayama Yuenchi ANIPA inside Akita City's Oyamayama Zoo, and operates the traveling amusement zone ANIPO at EXPOCITY in Suita, Osaka, as well as the NANAIRO WHEEL Ferris wheel at Mitsui Outlet Park Hokuriku Oyabe. The company's client and partner list includes major Japanese railway, tourism and real-estate operators such as Kintetsu, Keihan Electric Railway, Seibu Railway, Tokyu, Fujikyu, Mitsui Fudosan, Tokyo Dome, Nagashima Resort and many municipal park operators. Hoei Sangyo is a member of the Japan Amusement Industry Association (JAIA), the Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Osaka Industrial Association. Its capital is 20 million yen, and its representative director and president is Masahide Nagaraku. The company marked its 60th anniversary of founding and relocated its head office in June 2025.
History
Hoei Sangyo was founded in October 1963 and reorganized into a stock company in March 1967. It established itself as a maker of amusement-park rides, designing and manufacturing roller coasters, Ferris wheels and miniature trains, and later adding the import of overseas amusement equipment. A landmark early project came in November 1969, when the company designed and manufactured the "Wonder Wheel," described as Japan's largest Ferris wheel at the time, for the site of the Japan World Exposition (Expo '70). In March 1975 the company began its amusement-park operation and management contracting business, expanding from manufacturing into running parks. It rebuilt its head office in March 1995. In April 2008 Hoei Sangyo took over the Oyamayama Yuenchi from Hamada Kanko and reopened it as "Oyamayama Yuenchi ANIPA" inside Akita City's Oyamayama Zoo, establishing its Akita office at the same time. In July 2015, with the opening of the "NANAIRO WHEEL" Ferris wheel at Mitsui Outlet Park Hokuriku Oyabe, it opened the Mitsui Outlet Park Hokuriku Oyabe sales office; in November 2015, with the opening of "ANIPO" at EXPOCITY, it opened the EXPOCITY sales office. In 2018 it co-developed the racing coaster "DUEL GP" with Mobilityland. The company has continued to update its operations and communications, renewing its website in December 2023, adding two overseas products in July 2024, and relocating its head office in June 2025. It marked its 60th founding anniversary and remains active in both ride manufacturing and park operation across Japan.
