History

Hokkan Holdings was founded in 1921 in Otaru, Hokkaido, as a company manufacturing empty cans for food canning. Since then, it has expanded its business areas into filling and machinery manufacturing, and has pursued overseas expansion into Indonesia and Vietnam. In October 2021, the company celebrated its 100th anniversary. In May 2022, the group formulated a mid-term management plan called VENTURE-5 covering fiscal 2022 to fiscal 2026, which was later revised to cover fiscal 2023 to fiscal 2026, partly due to the discontinuation of the beverage can business within the container business.
