HORAKAI

HORAKAI (法螺会, Horakai) is a Japanese independent game circle founded on 8 May 2022 by Sasamori Sunoko (笹森簀児). It is a one-person operation: the official site lists the circle name as 法螺会 (Horakai), the English name as HORAKAI, the representative as Sasamori Sunoko, and the member count as one person. Its stated activity is the planning, development, and sale of games, and it describes its creative concept as occult, horror, and mystery. The circle is best known for the mystery-adventure title "Kitendre Soudan Dial" (奇天烈相談ダイヤル), which has been developed for consumer platforms and covered in magazines. HORAKAI also works across media beyond games: the official site's news feed references a novel, "Kitendre Soudan Dial: Kuchinashi no Noroi" (奇天烈相談ダイヤル 口無の呪い), and commemorative illustration features, indicating that the property is being extended into prose and illustration. HORAKAI communicates directly with its audience. Development progress on in-progress games is reported through X (formerly Twitter) and FANTIA, and the circle runs a paid FANTIA plan that offers benefits such as early access to trial versions and having supporters' names listed in the end credits. The official site also maintains a terms-of-use page, including guidelines added in 2026 covering secondary creation based on its books. As a small independent circle rather than a corporation, HORAKAI has no publicly traded status and no parent company; it is owned and operated by its founder. Its output is aimed primarily at the Japanese market, with distribution and community activity centered on its official website, social media, and subscription platform.

HORAKAI was founded on 8 May 2022 by Sasamori Sunoko as a personal indie game circle. From the outset it was a one-person operation, with Sasamori serving as representative and sole member, and its activity defined as the planning, development, and sale of games. The circle adopted occult, horror, and mystery as its core creative concept. Its principal project is the mystery-adventure game Kitendre Soudan Dial (奇天烈相談ダイヤル). By late 2025 the circle was reporting details of a consumer-platform version of the game along with magazine publication information, and in early 2026 it added further magazine coverage. The property has since expanded beyond games: in August 2026 the circle added information about a novel, Kitendre Soudan Dial: Kuchinashi no Noroi (奇天烈相談ダイヤル 口無の呪い), and announced a commemorative illustration published in ILLUST. HORAKAI maintains direct communication with its audience through X (formerly Twitter) and FANTIA, where it posts progress reports on games in development. Its FANTIA paid plan offers supporters benefits including early access to trial versions and having their names listed in the end credits. The official website also hosts terms of use; in August 2026 the circle updated these terms to add guidelines for secondary creation based on its books. As of the available evidence, HORAKAI remains an active, privately operated circle with no parent company or corporate group, owned and run by its founder.
