Hornady

Hornady Manufacturing is a bullet, ammunition, reloading tool and accessory designer and manufacturer founded in 1949 by Joyce Hornady, whose philosophy was "Ten bullets through one hole." The company describes itself as a world-leading innovator in these categories and is located in Grand Island, Nebraska. Its product lines referenced on its own site include the SST and FTX bullets used in American Whitetail TIPPED ammunition, the 12th Edition Handbook of Cartridge Reloading, the Versa-Prime Bench Priming Tool, the Auto Charge Pro powder measurer, and VEXIS palm vein recognition technology.

In 1949, with World War II over and the economy returning to peacetime status, Joyce Hornady started a new business. According to the company's history, bankers were skeptical of a bullet-making business for reloaders, while a sporting goods company would have been more understandable to them. Hornady believed there were thousands of shooters who wanted accurate, deadly, dependable bullets they could afford to reload, and "Accurate, deadly, dependable" became the new company's first advertising slogan. The company states that its philosophy, "Ten bullets through one hole," brought Hornady from a two-man operation in 1949 to a world-leading innovator of bullet, ammunition, reloading tool and accessory design and manufacturing.

Self-described world-leading innovator of bullet, ammunition, reloading tool and accessory design and manufacturing.
