HuFriedyGroup is a combination of Hu-Friedy, SS White Dental, Crosstex, Accutron, and Palmero Healthcare. Hu-Friedy was founded in 1908 by Hugo Friedman. Crosstex was founded in 1953 as a disposable towel/bib manufacturer. Accutron Inc. was acquired by Crosstex in 2016. The company introduced the Gracey Line of Instruments in 1945, developed the Wilkins/Tufts explorer in 1975, launched its first restorative line of immunity steel instruments in 1978, began a Japanese distribution partnership in 1981, introduced IMS™ Cassettes in 1982, established a European office in Germany in 1991, entered ultrasonic scaling marketing with an insert line in 1996, launched an orthodontic product line in 1999, established a Japan office in 2002, introduced EverEdge™ Scalers in 2005, expanded global presence in China and initiated the Friends of Hu-Friedy online community in 2007, launched Nevi™ Scalers in 2008, established a European office in the Netherlands in 2009, launched a magnetostrictive ultrasonic scaler and introduced a full line of hand care products in 2010, entered a new category with pediatric crowns in 2011, introduced the Clear Collection™ for Clear Aligners Instrument Set in 2013, introduced the Black Line Collection in 2014, and launched Hu-Care Service Programs in 2015.
