Humming Records

Humming Records is a German independent record label founded in the summer of 2009 by Colin Hauer and Jörg Peters. Originally created to bring the Australian band Cloud Control to Europe, the label quickly gained media attention and expanded its roster. Based in Hamburg and Berlin, Humming Records operates in the pop, indie rock and electronic genres. In 2019, it became part of Neubau Music, attached to Neubau Music Recordings GmbH, and now serves as the group's central music label. The label represents national and international artists such as Ätna, Yukno, Moglii, The Rubens, Mar Malade, Luz, Brockhoff and Haerts. It has also expanded into management activities and hosted its first own label night at the Reeperbahn Festival in 2022.

Humming Records was founded in the summer of 2009 by Colin Hauer and Jörg Peters. The label was initially established to bring the Australian band Cloud Control to Europe. Its first release generated strong media coverage, with the Süddeutsche Zeitung suggesting the singer could become a new "poster boy of indie folk." Building on this foundation, the label expanded its activities, bringing Vivien Mierzkalla on board as PR manager in 2010 and signing more artists, including K.Flay, Josef Salvat, Phoria and Vimes. In parallel, the collective expanded its management activities, discovering the Hamburg band In Golden Tears. Marius Lauber was recruited as producer for the first single production. Singer Patrick Denis Kowalewski later became a successful music producer under the name BLVTH. In 2019, Humming Records became part of Neubau Music, attached to Neubau Music Recordings GmbH, and has since functioned as the group's central music label. The first release in the new constellation was the debut album by Italian singer Fil Bo Riva. Since then, the artist roster has been steadily expanded, and the label now represents national and international artists such as Ätna, Yukno, Moglii, The Rubens, Mar Malade, Luz, Brockhoff and Haerts. At the Reeperbahn Festival 2022, Humming Records hosted its first own label night, featuring Pool, Luke Noa and Lie Ning, among others.
