Hunter's Manufacturing Company

Hunter's Manufacturing Company is an American manufacturer of crossbows and related hunting equipment, best known for its TenPoint Crossbow Technologies and Wicked Ridge brands. The company designs, builds, and tests its crossbows in the United States, with operations centered in Ohio. Its stated mission is to be a world-class manufacturer of products recognized as an industry standard for safety, accuracy, precision engineering, durability, performance, and power. The business traces its roots to the Bednar family's archery retail heritage: Rick Bednar's parents, Archery Hall of Famer Bill Bednar and his wife Edith, founded Portage Archery Center in Suffield, Ohio, and Rick grew up immersed in the family business, becoming an elite tournament archer before moving into the archery industry. That shop still operates today as Hunter's Outlet Archery Center, a division of TenPoint Crossbow Technologies. Under the TenPoint brand, the company markets a range of crossbows, including the Ultra Series (TRX Ultra, Tx Ultra 26.5, TX Ultra 29.5), the Phantom De-Cock, and the Titan X De-Cock, along with arrows, broadheads, scopes, cases, cocking devices, and other accessories. It also offers the Wicked Ridge line of crossbows and accessories. TenPoint describes itself as "The Most Awarded Crossbow Brand," citing independent tests, consumer surveys, and archery dealer rankings. The company sells primarily in the United States through its website and retail dealers, and has been in business for over 30 years.

The history of Hunter's Manufacturing Company is closely tied to the Bednar family and its archery heritage. Rick Bednar's parents, Archery Hall of Famer Bill Bednar and his wife Edith, founded Portage Archery Center in Suffield, Ohio. Rick and his sisters Cindy and Joanna grew up in an apartment adjoining the pro shop building. That shop still operates today as Hunter's Outlet Archery Center, a division of TenPoint Crossbow Technologies. Bill Bednar coached Rick as an elite tournament archer; Rick competed at collegiate, national, and international levels, was a member of the USA Pan Am, World Target, and World Field Archery teams, qualified for the 1976 Olympic Team, and won the NCAA Championship three times at The University of Akron. After graduating in 1979, Rick worked for specialty retailer Cole National Corporation as its Director of New Store Expansion. Within two years, he moved back into the archery industry, and the evolution of TenPoint Crossbow Technologies began. The company has been in business for over 30 years, designing, building, and testing crossbows in the United States, specifically in Ohio. Over that period it has expanded its product line from crossbows to a full range of accessories, arrows, scopes, and related hunting gear, and it operates the Wicked Ridge brand as a value-oriented line. TenPoint markets itself as "The Most Awarded Crossbow Brand," citing independent tests, consumer surveys, and archery dealer rankings. Recent product introductions include the Ultra Series crossbows (TRX Ultra, Tx Ultra 26.5, TX Ultra 29.5) and the Vision HD 3-12X Digital Rangefinding Crossbow Scope.
