IBA Hamburg

IBA Hamburg GmbH is a 100% subsidiary of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg. From 2006 to 2013 it was tasked with the conception, execution and handling of the International Building Exhibition IBA Hamburg; since 2014 it has operated as an urban development company developing new quarters in Hamburg. It develops in 10 areas with a total area of over 440 hectares, creating new, liveable and lively neighbourhoods that offer housing and workplaces for a mixed society. Its work covers all phases of project development, from feasibility studies to the move-in of the first residents and beyond, with early involvement of stakeholders from politics, administration, business and society as well as citizen participation.
