Overview
ICOP Technology Inc. is a Taiwanese manufacturer of industrial embedded computers, industrial embedded controllers, industrial motion controllers and industrial panel PCs. The company was launched in Taipei, Taiwan in 1998 and became a member of the DM&P group in 1999, the same year it released its M6117D embedded PC platform. ICOP describes itself as a leading manufacturer in its field, serving an international customer base through a global network of integration and distribution partners, with offices across the Americas, Europe and Asia. Its headquarters remain in Taipei, Taiwan. ICOP's product families include embedded computers, panel PCs, box PCs, EtherCAT MDevice and SubDevice products, peripherals and storage. The company is closely associated with the Vortex86 system-on-chip family, having adopted successive generations — Vortex86 SX in 2007, Vortex86 DX in 2009, Vortex86 MX in 2011, Vortex86 DX2 in 2013 and Vortex86EX in 2014 — and building series of embedded industrial CPU boards, single-board computers and panel PCs around them. More recent offerings include the QEC-PPC-M-090T-S, a programmable 9-inch HMI panel PC for connected machine applications, and the iBPC-N8MP, a compact industrial box PC positioned for high-performance edge AI. Typical applications for ICOP devices include industrial and home automation, telecommunications, mobile surveillance, environmental monitoring, medical monitoring, facility management systems, intelligent transportation systems, automated parking control systems, gaming systems and point-of-sale systems. The company positions its products as helping customers improve product quality and reliability, lower manufacturing costs and meet consumer expectations for high-quality products at affordable prices. ICOP has a long-standing relationship with Microsoft's embedded ecosystem. It became the official hardware provider for Microsoft's Windows Embedded team in 2002, a golden partner in 2003, and was named partner of the year for Microsoft's embedded team in 2005. In 2010 it served as official hardware supplier for Microsoft's Imagine Cup and Embedded SPARK events. The company has also committed to providing ten years of life-cycle support for its single-board computers, a significant promise in the industrial embedded market where long-term availability is critical. Geographically, ICOP expanded beyond Taiwan with a manufacturing site in Shenzhen, China in 2000, branch offices in Los Angeles and Tokyo in 2002, New Jersey in 2005, Sian (Xi'an) in 2006, Beijing in 2009 and Frankfurt, Germany in 2014.
