Overview

IEF-Werner is a German mechanical-engineering company specialising in automation and handling technology. According to its own corporate history, the business was founded in 1980 and has since accumulated more than 45 years of experience in machine building. Its product portfolio spans a broad range of components and systems: palletisers, linear axes, rotary units, servo presses, guide rails, manual adjusters, linear drives, swivel drives, rotary tables, control technology and special solutions. These building blocks are combined into positioning systems and, ultimately, into customer-specific applications up to fully automated production lines. The company positions itself as a provider of tailor-made manufacturing machines and production lines that can be realised quickly thanks to a modular, future-oriented approach. It emphasises in-house manufacturing depth, stating that critical components are always produced internally, and it employs specialists in mechanics, electrical engineering and software development. Its stated goals for customers are greater flexibility, efficiency and effectiveness, higher automation levels, lower energy costs and high reliability with low maintenance. IEF-Werner's product families include the profiLINE linear-axis series, the euroLINE direct-drive positioning system, the aiPRESS servo-press generation, the varioSTACK CF palletising system for cleanroom applications, the ecoSTACK energy-saving palletiser, the roboCELL standard cell and the aiPRESS JM joining modules. The company has received recognition for its innovations, including a second place in the handling-awards for its aiPRESS servo-press series and innovation prizes for the R2010 wheel-measuring system. Leadership has evolved over the decades. Manfred Bär handed over management to Manfred Meyer and Stefan Deck, and from 1 September 2025 Jürgen Noailles joined the management team, gradually taking over from Manfred Meyer, who is to retire at the end of 2026. The company reported around 160 employees at the time of that leadership transition. IEF-Werner remains a privately held German industrial company serving demanding handling and automation tasks.

History

IEF-Werner was founded in 1980, according to the company's own history page. Over more than four decades it developed from a machine-building business into a provider of modular automation and handling systems. The company states that it has over 45 years of experience in mechanical engineering and that its broad portfolio of systems and components allows it to realise tailor-made production machines and lines quickly. A series of product introductions and corporate developments are documented in the company's history. In 2006 it was named "Company of the Month in the Winner Region" by the Schwarzwald-Baar-Heuberg economic development agency in January, and it received the innovation prize of the Sparkasse Schwarzwald-Baar foundation for the R2010 wheel-measuring system. The company also received an innovation prize for small and medium-sized industrial and craft businesses. Later milestones include the implementation of the euroLINE positioning system with direct drive, the presentation of the energy-saving ecoSTACK palletising system, and the market launch of the new aiPRESS servo-press generation. The company completely revised its corporate design and website, and it launched the roboCELL standard cell and the varioSTACK CF palletising system for cleanroom applications. The aiPRESS servo-press series won second place in the handling-awards. In March 2020 the COVID-19 pandemic began, and the company started sales of the aiPRESS JM joining modules. Manfred Bär handed over management to Manfred Meyer and Stefan Deck. The company reported 160 employees at that time. More recently, the profiLINE 200 was equipped with spindle support, spindle support was developed for the profiLINE 140, the rotary-table and manual rotary-adjuster series were extended with the DT 160/200 and MDV 160/200, and the direct-drive series was extended with the euroLINE 200 and euroLINE 140. On 1 April the company marked 45 years of IEF-Werner. From 1 September 2025 Jürgen Noailles joined the management board, gradually taking over from Manfred Meyer, who will retire at the end of 2026.
