In April 2000 three companies — Ishikawajima Plant Construction (IPC), Ishikawajima Kikai Tekkō Engineering (IIK) and IHI Plantec (ITC) — merged. In July 2008 the company name was changed from Ishikawajima Plant Construction Co., Ltd. to IHI Plant Construction Co., Ltd. In April 2019 three companies — IHI Plant Construction (IPC), IHI Plant Engineering (IPEC) and IHI Process Plant SBU — merged and the company was renamed IHI Plant.
