Infinant Health Inc.

Infinant Health Inc. is a company spun out from the Foods For Health Institute (FFHI) at the University of California, Davis, focused on the infant gut microbiome. Its mission is to change the trajectory of human health, one baby at a time. The company discovered B. infantis EVC001, a natural bacterial strain foundational to infant immune health, and developed INF108, a next-generation drug strain designed to prevent necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) in premature infants. Its products, used in combination with breast milk, aim to unlock the potential of the infant gut microbiome.

Infinant Health is a spin-out from the Foods For Health Institute (FFHI) at the University of California, Davis. Years of proprietary research into the role of breast milk and its impact on human development led to the discovery of B. infantis EVC001, a natural bacterial strain foundational to infant immune health. The company notes that B. infantis had been almost completely eradicated from infants in developed countries due to unintended consequences of modern medicine such as feeding and birthing practices. Infinant Health developed INF108, a next-generation drug strain designed to prevent NEC in premature infants. The company's founding scientists continue to advise and collaborate with it, sharing their experience from more than a decade of research into the infant gut microbiome and its critical interaction with breast milk.
