Overview
ING Co., Ltd. (株式会社アイ・エヌ・ジー) is a Japanese integrated advertising agency headquartered in Shibuya, Tokyo. Founded in November 1990 in Shinjuku, the company built its identity around youth culture and teen marketing, a positioning that dates back to its early work on a TV Asahi information program's high-school-girl segment in 1994. That experience led the firm to launch the monthly survey "Shibuya Trend Research" with 200 high-school girls in 1995, and it has since developed a range of proprietary media and research assets aimed at younger generations. The company describes its core strength as the expressive and creative power of Gen Z combined with its own media and content. Its service lines span marketing research, web and video content production, casting, promotion, and media PR, positioning itself as a bridge between younger audiences and corporate clients. Its client work has included social media account operation for music programs, PR events for Korean drama premieres in Japan, promotional video production for major confectionery brands, website operation, and casting and media buying for cosmetics campaigns. ING operates several media and community properties, including INGteens (a teen real monitor community), Shibuya Trend Research, and the web media Emo!miu, launched in 2019. It also manages a roster of talents and has expanded into production and staffing businesses, holding a worker dispatch license. The company is a 100% consolidated subsidiary of Tsubasa Entertainment Co., Ltd., part of the Tsubasa Group, which also includes Tsubasa Records and Double Culture Partners. Its representative director is Yasufumi Sato. With a capital of 10,000,000 yen, ING remains a privately held, group-owned agency focused on youth-driven marketing and entertainment-adjacent content.
History
ING Co., Ltd. was established in November 1990 in Shinjuku, Tokyo. The company's early direction was shaped in 1994 when it planned and produced a "high-school-girl corner" for the TV Asahi information program "We," which ranked among the network's top-10 rated programs. This work led the company to recognize the potential of high-school-girl marketing. In 1995, it began publishing the monthly survey "Shibuya Trend Research," based on responses from 200 high-school girls. The following year, in 1996, it started operating high-school-girl word-of-mouth promotion and publicity, as well as various research targeting high-school girls. In 1998, the company opened Nagoya and Osaka branch offices (now closed). It moved its headquarters to Shibuya Ward in 1999. In 2002, it established Double Wing Co., Ltd. in Taito Ward, Tokyo, for the purpose of entering the music entertainment business. In 2003, it founded Booing Co., Ltd. in Meguro Ward, Tokyo, for comprehensive marketing and entertainment, and established Tsubasa Records Co., Ltd. in Shibuya Ward for a label business producing and selling music CDs, making it a consolidated subsidiary. In 2004, the company transferred all of Booing's business to Double Wing, converted Booing into a stock company and renamed it Tsubasa Entertainment Co., Ltd., moved the head offices of the three group companies to Nakano Ward, Tokyo, made Tsubasa Records a wholly owned consolidated subsidiary of Tsubasa Entertainment, and through a share exchange made Double Wing a wholly owned consolidated subsidiary of Tsubasa Entertainment. In 2006, the company entered a capital and business alliance with Lawson, Inc. In 2008, to strengthen its marketing research business, ING Co., Ltd. became a wholly owned consolidated subsidiary of Tsubasa Entertainment Co., Ltd. In 2009, the group's four companies moved their head offices to Shibuya Ward, Tokyo. In 2012, Double Wing strengthened its capital alliance with Lawson. In 2014, the company began its production and staffing businesses. In 2018, it started its IT business. In November 2019, it launched the web media Emo!miu. The company continues to operate as a youth-focused integrated advertising agency within the Tsubasa Group.
