The company was founded in 1913 by Johann Bodner senior in Sillian, East Tyrol. In 1931, the company moved to Uderns in the Zillertal, and in 1938, the headquarters were relocated to Kufstein in North Tyrol to serve a larger catchment area. After the death of the founder in 1957, the business was continued by his widow Aloisia until 1969, when the sons KR Bmstr. Ing. Hans Bodner and KR Helmut Bodner joined the company. In 1975, Christina Brandner (née Bodner) took over commercial management. In 1984, Mag. Ing. Thomas Bodner joined the company. Today, at its centenary, the group is led by managing directors Hans, Helmut and Thomas Bodner. The company has grown from a local builder to a major construction group, achieving over 1 billion euros in revenue in the 2025 financial year.
