Overview
Ingelec is a Moroccan company specialising in the design, manufacture and sale of low-voltage electrical equipment. Founded in 1975 by the Sekkat family, it is part of Groupe Sekkat and is headquartered in Casablanca. The company began by producing switches for the building sector and has since grown into a broad supplier of electrical installation products. Ingelec's range covers switches, socket outlets and multi-socket blocks; circuit breakers, distribution boards and safety accessories; lighting solutions; and accessories for electrical installations. Its products are marketed under its own brands, including Tichka, Oscar, Alyans and Tropic 2, and are certified to Moroccan (NM) and French (NF) standards. The company has pursued standardisation and certification since the 1990s, obtaining the LPEE quality label for its first switch ranges in 1993 and ISO 9001 certification in 2003, which has been renewed several times. While its home market is Morocco, where it operates a main factory in Bouskoura and a nationwide distribution network, Ingelec also exports to more than 20 countries, mainly in Sub-Saharan Africa, including Senegal, Côte d'Ivoire, Benin, Cameroon and Gabon, working through local partners and commercial representatives. The company remains privately held within Groupe Sekkat.
History
Ingelec was created in 1975 amid a period of emerging industrial development in Morocco. The company originated from the initiative of the Sekkat family, which was already active in the plastics processing sector. It began operations by manufacturing switches intended for the building sector. From the 1990s onward, the company undertook several standardisation and certification processes covering both its products and its management processes. In 1993 it obtained the LPEE quality label for its first ranges of switches. Ingelec has been ISO 9001 certified since 2003, a certification that has been renewed several times, reflecting its commitment to a quality management system. Over the decades, Ingelec expanded its product range beyond switches to include socket outlets, multi-socket blocks, circuit breakers, distribution boards, safety accessories, lighting solutions and other electrical installation accessories. It developed its own brands, including Tichka, Oscar, Alyans and Tropic 2, certified to Moroccan (NM) or French (NF) standards. In addition to its national presence in Morocco, where it operates a main factory in Bouskoura and a distribution network covering the whole country, Ingelec has established an international presence in more than 20 countries, mainly in Sub-Saharan Africa, notably Senegal, Côte d'Ivoire, Benin, Cameroon and Gabon. It operates there through local partners or commercial representations. The company remains part of Groupe Sekkat and is headquartered in Casablanca.
