History
Intech Biopharm Ltd. was established in 2010 as a subsidiary of Synmosa Biopharma Corporation, a Taiwanese pharmaceutical company. The origins of its core technology date back to 2007, when Synmosa set up an HFA MDI research and development division (研二处) and converted a CFC MDI production line purchased from Boehringer Ingelheim to an environmentally compliant HFA MDI line. This laid the foundation for Intech Biopharm's specialized focus on inhalation drugs. In 2012, the company obtained a US patent for its spray counter (喷雾计数器). The following year, 2013, was pivotal: Intech Biopharm received qualification for incentives under the Act for the Development of Biotech and New Pharmaceuticals from the Ministry of Economic Affairs; its product Duasma won a Silver Award for Pharmaceutical Technology Research and Development from the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Ministry of Economic Affairs; Duasma and Synvent obtained Taiwan drug licenses, and Duasma was launched. Additionally, patents were granted in China for the spray counter and in Taiwan for a process for preparing metered-dose inhalers for treating respiratory diseases. The company also began receiving external investment. In 2014, Intech Biopharm obtained a Chinese patent for an inhaled combination composition for asthma. It increased its capital to NT$550 million, with Synmosa holding about 50% equity. The company went public and registered on the Emerging Stock Market (兴柜) in mid-2014. It also moved from rented laboratories at the Development Center for Biotechnology to newly purchased experimental offices and recruited more talent. In 2016, after a cash capital increase, the company's capital reached NT$700 million, and it passed the Ministry of Economic Affairs' review for OTC listing as a technology enterprise. In 2017, it completed construction of a dedicated inhalation (MDI & DPI) manufacturing facility compliant with European and American standards and began trial production. In 2018, Intech Biopharm listed its shares on the Taipei Exchange (股票上柜). Since then, the company has continued to develop its pipeline of respiratory and oncology drugs, leveraging its HFA MDI and DPI platforms. It holds multiple domestic and international patents and drug licenses and remains committed to innovation, quality, professionalism, and care.
