Inter Rhône

Inter Rhône is the interprofessional organization for the vineyards of the Rhône Valley. Its official website, vins-rhone.com, presents the appellations, grape varieties, events, and history of the Rhône Valley vineyards, and includes a section on the mission of the interprofession and on joining the Inter Rhône teams.

The official website of Inter Rhône presents the history of the Rhône Valley vineyards, stating that the history of this vineyard begins with the founding of the Greek city of Massalia in 600 BC, not far from the Rhône delta. It also describes the geological formation of the Rhône Valley, including the emergence of granite rock in the north from volcanic activity of the Massif Central 300 million years ago, and the later collapse of the valley between the Massif Central and the Alps.
