Overview
InterCure Ltd. is an Israeli public company engaged in the research, cultivation, production, import, export, marketing, distribution and sale of medical cannabis products under license and under the supervision of Israel's Ministry of Health. Founded in November 1994 as a biomedical investment company, it pivoted into medical cannabis through the June 2018 acquisition of Canndoc Ltd., which had been incorporated in March 2010. Today InterCure presents itself as "the world's leading pharmaceutical cannabis company outside the United States," describing a vertically integrated platform that spans DNA-level research, cultivation, a house of brands, and clinical-grade pharmacy retail. The company's securities trade on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange and NASDAQ under the ticker INCR, and have also traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange. Its chairman since March 2019 has been former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak; its chief executive officer is Alexander Rabinovitch. InterCure reports 350+ employees and 12 consecutive profitable half-years. InterCure organizes its business around four pillars. The first is pharmaceutical retail through Givol, described as the largest dedicated medical cannabis pharmacy network in Israel, with 25+ locations nationwide and an expansion into Germany following that country's cannabis legalization, including Cookies Corners in Frankfurt and Berlin. The second is world-class R&D through an exclusive partnership with Cannasoul Analytics, led by Professor Dedi Meiri of the Technion, using metabolic profiling and biological validation to map the Entourage Effect across 120+ cannabinoids, with 11 active clinical trials. The third is a house of brands anchored by Canndoc, presented as the exclusive home of global icons and the #1 brand portfolio outside North America, with partnerships including Cookies, The Flowery and Runtz. The fourth is proprietary AI through Botanico, an intelligence engine optimizing the value chain. InterCure's product and retail footprint is supported by a group of Israeli subsidiaries and pharmacy operators, including Canndoc, Cannolam (which operates the Givol-branded medical cannabis pharmacy chain), Pharmazon Pharmacy, Bio Max Pharm, Club Pharm, Hello Medical, GreenLog Global and several individual licensed pharmacies. The company positions itself on science, patient dignity, global ambition, financial discipline, partnership integrity and operational excellence.
History
InterCure Ltd. was founded in November 1994 as a biomedical investment company. Among its early holdings were a 17.25% stake in Regenera, which developed drugs for central nervous system diseases, and a 9.3% stake in Novelos, active in cancer diagnostics. In June 2018 InterCure acquired Canndoc Ltd., a company incorporated in March 2010 that operated in the cannabis field. Through Canndoc and other subsidiaries, InterCure moved into the research, cultivation, growing, import, manufacture, export, marketing, distribution and sale of medical cannabis products. In November 2018 the company reported raising $17 million in a private placement, and in June 2020 it raised 38 million shekels. Ehud Barak became chairman of the company in March 2019. In July 2020 InterCure acquired control of Cannolam, an Israeli pharmacy chain that distributes medical cannabis under the Givol brand. On 1 September 2021 the company's shares began trading on NASDAQ, in parallel with their earlier listing on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange and the Toronto Stock Exchange. By the mid-2020s InterCure presented itself as the world's leading pharmaceutical cannabis company outside the United States, with a vertically integrated model spanning R&D, a house of brands, clinical-grade retail and proprietary AI. Its subsidiary group includes Canndoc (medical cannabis production, export and distribution), Cannolam (Givol pharmacy network), Pharmazon Pharmacy (distribution to Israeli pharmacies), Bio Max Pharm (two pharmacies in Holon and Rishon LeZion), Club Pharm (a pharmacy in the M HaDerech mall), Mei Binyamina Club Pharm 2022 (a pharmacy in Binyamina), Hello Medical (a medical cannabis treatment consultation center), GreenLog Global (distribution to Israeli pharmacies), and several individual licensed pharmacies in Raanana, Beit Dagan and elsewhere.
