Overview

The International Christian Chamber of Commerce (ICCC) is a global network for Christians in the workplace, founded by J. Gunnar Olson. Its vision took shape in the late 1970s and early 1980s, with a public launch at a conference in Örebro, Sweden, in late 1984. The organization aims to put the Kingdom of God first in business life and to train men and women to walk with Christ in the marketplace. ICCC operates as a chamber of commerce-style network rather than a traditional trade body. It is represented in 75 nations according to its official website, while Finnish Wikipedia reports activity in over 80 countries. It organizes local and international events, seminars, conferences, training sessions, and networking gatherings. Membership is open to business owners, public and private sector workers, and NGO staff. The organization is structured around local chambers in various nations, supported by a global secretariat. Its stated values include righteousness (trustworthy and truthful actions), being led by the Holy Spirit, and excellence in stewardship. ICCC also runs a Young Professionals program and maintains an online store and donation portal. ICCC's work is rooted in the belief that faith should be integrated into professional life. It encourages members to see their work as a calling and to serve others rather than be served. The network spans every continent, with active chambers in Europe, Africa, Asia, the Americas, and Oceania. In Finland, ICCC activity began in the early 1990s and has members across the country. The organization remains active, hosting events and providing resources for Christians in business. Its website serves as a hub for registration, event information, and connection to local chambers. ICCC continues to pursue its vision of a worldwide people experiencing the reality of God's kingdom in their working lives.

History

The vision of the International Christian Chamber of Commerce (ICCC) was formed and plans were made to lay the foundation in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The aim was to put the Kingdom of God as the first priority in business lives and to teach and train men and women to respond to the biblical challenge of a walk with Christ in the marketplace. The founder, J. Gunnar Olson, often teaches about "a release under the Lordship of Christ." Drawing on insights and wisdom from walking with the Lord in his own business life, coupled with the foundational Word of God, Gunnar wants to show that, through the redemptive work of Jesus, there is indeed a freedom from slavery to be experienced also in professional and business lives. At the end of 1984, a conference was held in Örebro, Sweden, with the theme "Big Brother or the Kingdom of God?" This conference, with Intercessors International, became the platform from which Gunnar shared for the first time his vision and dream of an International Christian Chamber of Commerce. Since then, ICCC has grown into a global network. According to its official website, it is represented in 75 nations on every continent. Finnish Wikipedia reports activity in over 80 countries. The organization supports the development and growth of local chambers and seeks to inspire, equip, serve, and challenge members to take the calling of God seriously. In Finland, ICCC activity began in the early 1990s and has members and activities across the country. The organization continues to hold local and international events, seminars, conferences, training, and networking gatherings.
