InterSearch Worldwide Ltd. is an international cooperation of personnel consulting firms specializing in executive search and classic personnel consulting. It is one of the largest partnerships of independent personnel consulting firms. Founded in 1989, the organization is present in over 50 countries with more than 90 offices. The executive search industry research firm Hunt-Scanlon lists InterSearch among the 40 companies with the highest global presence in the sector. Internationally, the organization is led by an elected Management Board. The chairman of InterSearch Worldwide is Frank Schelstraete (Belgium). Other board members include Peter Waite (Australia), Jyorden Misra (India), Leslie Cooper (Chile), and Alexander Wilhelm (Germany). InterSearch has an independent Standard & Quality Committee (chairman: Harris Karaolides, Middle East and Greece) as well as an internal training academy for consultants and researchers (director: Micheál Coughlan, Ireland). In Germany, InterSearch is represented by two companies: InterSearch Personalberatung GmbH & Co. KG with offices in Bremen, Düsseldorf, and Frankfurt, and InterSearch Executive Consultants GmbH & Co. KG based in Hamburg. These companies were founded in 1985 as MR Personalberatung GmbH, which was a founding member and co-initiator of InterSearch Worldwide Ltd. in 1989. In 2007, a renaming to InterSearch Deutschland GmbH emphasized international networking. In 2012, InterSearch Deutschland GmbH split into the current companies InterSearch Personalberatung and InterSearch Executive Consultants. In June 2020, InterSearch Executive Consultants GmbH & Co. KG acquired a stake in the startup bits&birds GmbH. InterSearch Personalberatung GmbH & Co. KG is managed by four equal managing partners (Widukind Baier, Mario Dänekas, Jörg Dötter, and Alexander Wilhelm) and is a member of the Bundesverband Deutscher Unternehmensberater BDU e.V. InterSearch Executive Consultants GmbH & Co. KG is led by a managing partner (Thomas Bockholdt).
