ISOVOLTA AG is an Austrian company founded in 1949 in Werndorf near Graz as "Österreichische Isolierstoffwerke Kommanditgesellschaft H. Turnauer & Co". The ISOVOLTA Group describes itself as an internationally leading manufacturer of electrical insulation materials, technical laminates and composite materials, with production and sales locations in various countries on three continents. Its product areas include Energy, Composite Materials, Aviation & Transportation and Specialities. In 1962 a plant was built in Wiener Neudorf and the headquarters was relocated there. International expansion began in the mid-1980s with production and sales locations in India, the USA, China, Spain, Romania, Mexico, Germany and France. In 2002 ISOVOLTA was split into ISOVOLTA AG and ISOMAX AG.

The commissioning of the plant built in 1962 in Wiener Neudorf and the associated relocation of the headquarters formed a milestone in ISOVOLTA's history. The consistent expansion of the product portfolio — for example with technical high-pressure laminates for the electrical, leisure and aircraft industries as well as laminates for the furniture industry — and the founding of subsidiaries such as "Thermax Brandschutzbauteile GmbH" formed the pillars for sustainable corporate growth. International expansion began in the mid-1980s with the founding of production and sales locations in India, the USA, China, Spain, Romania, Mexico, Germany and France. The split of ISOVOLTA into ISOVOLTA AG and ISOMAX AG in 2002 allowed a more precise focus and better concentration of business activities and thus supported healthy growth.
