Israel Society of Ecology and Environmental Sciences

The Israel Society of Ecology and Environmental Sciences works to cultivate the scientific community and improve environmental policy in Israel by advancing the status of scientific discourse, making it accessible, and embedding it among opinion-shapers and policymakers. Its activities include the Zavit content platform, the Mumash applied post-doctorate program, the Ecology and Environment journal, the Conference, and the Han point framework.

• Zavit content platform

  An advanced content platform offering journalists and the general public up-to-date, relevant, accessible and interesting information in the fields of science and environment.

• Mumash applied post-doctorate program

  A program aimed at increasing the use of scientific knowledge and scientific considerations in Israel's environmental policy process, developing young leadership of scientists and training them to work effectively in the public sector while integrating them into decision-making processes at senior levels in government ministries.

• Ecology and Environment journal

  The main platform for scientific and professional publications in Hebrew in the fields of environmental sciences, public policy and ecology, making scientific research accessible with emphasis on its relation to environmental policy-making, and providing space for expressing opinions, reports and discussions on central environmental issues.

• The Conference

  The largest central forum in Israel of the academic and professional community in the fields of research and environment, bringing together leading researchers, senior officials from the governmental and public sector, industry representatives and students from all higher education institutions in the country over three days with dozens of sessions dealing with central environmental issues.

• Han point

  A framework for promoting diverse projects at the interface between agriculture and ecology and a broad environmental perception, aiming to build an interdisciplinary professional knowledge infrastructure on multi-functional landscape agriculture in Israel.
