ITS Reisen

ITS Reisen (International Touristik Service) is a German travel operator brand that belongs to the DER Touristik Gesellschaft mbH, the tourism division of the Rewe Group. It was founded on 23 November 1970 as the travel operator of Kaufhof AG in Cologne and was acquired by the Rewe Group in 1995. Today it is managed within Rewe's package-tourism operations and, since 2013, the group's package operators have been consolidated under the DER Touristik Group umbrella. Tourism contributes EUR 2.97 billion, or 5.8%, to the Rewe Group's total revenue, and the group holds a 17.89% market share, making it number two in the German tour-operator market. Internationally, ITS expanded through joint ventures and subsidiaries: in 1998 it founded the direct marketer ITS Billa Reisen in Vienna, Austria; in 2003 the tour operator ITourS was established under the ITS brand in Moscow, Russia; and in June 2006 the Swiss Coop Genossenschaft and Rewe founded the tour operator Coop-ITS-Travel AG based in Volketswil. In the same year, the Austrian part of the business, together with Jahn Reisen Österreich, was integrated into Rewe Austria Touristik GmbH in Vienna. ITS Reisen remains an active brand in the German-speaking travel market, positioned as a mainstream package-holiday provider within one of Europe's largest tourism groups.

Within this structure, ITS Reisen is managed as a brand of DER Touristik Gesellschaft mbH. The tourism division is significant for Rewe: it contributes EUR 2.97 billion, or 5.8%, to the group's total revenue, and with a 17.89% market share it ranks number two in the German tour-operator market. ITS Reisen continues to market flight package holidays to a broad range of short-, medium-, and long-haul destinations, with a strong emphasis on flexibility and safety in booking.
