History

The roots of the Jagenberg Group go back to the 19th century: in 1878, Ferdinand Emil Jagenberg founded a paper wholesaler in Düsseldorf, followed in 1890 by the development and construction of the first winder. In 2003, Jagenberg AG was taken over by Kleinewefers GmbH, starting a new Jagenberg era. Jagenberg AG became the management holding company for all industrial companies, with Kleinewefers GmbH as financial holding company. In 2003, Jagenberg AG and its only remaining operating division Kampf were acquired by Kleinewefers GmbH. Subsequent acquisitions included WT Wickeltechnik in 2004, Pagendarm in 2004, and Küsters in 2005. In 2006, after restructuring, individual business units of Küsters were sold. In 2007, a joint venture with Polytype Converting AG was formed, and TAG Composites & Carpets GmbH was acquired by Kleinewefers.
