History

JAS Forwarding Worldwide began in Milan, Italy, in 1978 through the vision of Mr. Biagio Bruni. In 1981 it was named Italy's #1 IATA-ranked freight forwarder, and in 1985 it expanded its portfolio to include ocean freight. During the late 1980s and 1990s it expanded into the Far East, Europe and the Americas. In the 2000s growth was consolidated through stronger gateway traffic at major hubs, while web-based technology and advanced applications enhanced capabilities. In 2006 the headquarters moved to Atlanta, GA. In 2007 the footprint expanded with subsidiaries in India, the Middle East, Northern Europe and beyond, and in 2008 JAS celebrated its 30th anniversary. In 2011 it expanded the Oil & Energy and Projects verticals with new locations worldwide, and in 2012 opened 7 new subsidiaries including Saudi Arabia and Vietnam. In 2016 it made its first acquisition, JAS Forwarding de Colombia S.A. (former agent), and in 2018 celebrated its 40th anniversary. In 2020 it introduced Blue World Flight Operations, and in 2021 it acquired Braz Logistica International Ltda. (Sonave), Tigers Limited Group, Bossi & C. Transiti SpA, as well as a freight forwarding company with expertise in decarbonization solutions and supply chain management, expanding its footprint throughout the Nordic region.
