On March 4, 2025, the relevant news edition became the subject of a Korea Communications Standards Commission complaint. JIBS said the presenter had consumed alcohol during lunch and later felt unwell; he was suspended for three months.

JIBS News 8 election-coverage presentation incident
On March 30, 2024, presenter Jo Chang-beom mispronounced a phrase during election-related coverage. The video circulated online and was subsequently deleted by JIBS, along with the complete edition from the station’s website and social-media pages. JIBS said it would work to prevent similar incidents.
