History

Jiahua Capital (加华资本), also known historically as Jiahua Weiye Capital (加华伟业资本), was founded in 2007 by Song Xiangqian. Song had previously worked at Everbright Securities and Guosen Securities, served as a director and chief financial officer at Huatai Securities, and held senior investment banking roles at Century Securities before establishing the firm. From its inception, Jiahua Capital focused on China's large consumer and modern services sectors, adopting a value-investing philosophy and positioning itself as a hands-on, value-creation-oriented fund rather than a purely financial investor. Over the following decade, the firm built a portfolio of consumer and service companies across food and beverage, beauty, retail, dining, and related industries. Representative investments include Dongpeng Beverage, Laiyifen, Aimer, Babi Food, Xiaocaiyuan, Qiaqia Food, Jiajia Soy Sauce, Juran Zhijia, Meituan, Meitu, ORG Technology, Chando, Jinmailang, Xiaoguocha, Laoxiangji, Wenheyou, New Pearl Ceramics, and Didi Chuxing. Several of these companies subsequently listed on the A-share or Hong Kong markets, including Dongpeng Beverage (605499.SH), Aimer (603511.SH), Babi Food (605338.SH), Juran Home (000785.SZ), and Xiaocaiyuan (00999.HK). In August 2021, Jiahua Capital brought in nearly RMB 800 million in strategic investment from GLP and Sequoia China. The firm has offices in Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong, and its accumulated assets under management have grown to more than RMB 30 billion according to its official website. Its limited partners include funds of funds, financial institutions, university endowments, consumer industry funds, family offices, and high-net-worth individuals.
