History
Jobware was founded on 1 May 1996 in Paderborn as the first German online job market, at a time when the internet was still a novelty and job advertisements appeared exclusively in newspapers. The company started as Jobware Online-Service GmbH in the technology park in Paderborn. In 1998, it became part of Medien Union, which strengthened Jobware. In 2009, the first apps for mobile devices were introduced. In 2013, eye-tracking studies decoded reading behavior for online job advertisements. In 2019, a new sales location was established in Düsseldorf with the founding of Recruiting Excellence GmbH as the exclusive marketing company for jobware.de and experteer.de. In 2020, the company moved to a new building in the technology park. In 2022, UniNow, the #1 campus app for studies and career, was acquired. Today, around 200 employees work at Jobware as a full-service provider for job search and recruiting.
