JOJ Family

JOJ Family is a Czech television channel operated by Magical roof s.r.o., a company owned by the Slovak production group Slovenská produkčná. It is the second station from the JOJ Group to officially operate on the Czech market, following the film channel JOJ Cinema. The channel launched in September 2016 and is aimed at family viewers, offering a mix of original TV JOJ productions that hold Czech broadcasting rights, classic Czechoslovak series, sitcoms, talent shows and news programming. The channel's name encodes its family-oriented positioning. Its schedule includes Czech-Slovak formats with tradition, such as the Czechoslovak version of the talent show Česko Slovensko má talent. It also broadcasts older Czechoslovak series such as Zákony pohybu, Okres na severu, Rodáci, Žena za pultem, Synové a dcery Jakuba skláře, Třicet případů majora Zemana and Dlouhá míle. Original JOJ productions shown include Naši, Dr. Dokonalý, Doktorka Ema, ZOO, Kdyby bylo kdyby, Za sklem, Pravá tvář, Hotel, Prázdniny and Jsem máma. JOJ Family is distributed via satellite on Astra 3C through Skylink in MPEG-4/HD and on Thor 7 through Telly in MPEG-4/SD. It is also carried by a number of cable and IPTV operators. The station broadcasts via DVB-T2 in multiplex 24 and, from 1 September, also in multiplex 23. Advertising representation is handled by Atmedia. Between 2018 and 2025, Czech News Center held a 20% stake in Magical roof s.r.o. The channel remains active and continues to target Czech viewers with a blend of domestic and Slovak-produced content.
