Overview
Jubin Frères SA is a Swiss company founded in 1973, headquartered in Porrentruy, in the canton of Jura. It started with wood and coal, then diversified into petroleum products and fuel, and later built its own network of service stations.
History
In the 1970s, Raymond Jubin, of Jura origin, bought and resold companies. He acquired one active in wood and coal. His sons Denis and Jean-Claude decided to keep the recently acquired operation, and in 1973 Jubin Frères SA was born, with its headquarters always in Porrentruy, in the canton of Jura. Initially, they used a truck for wood and coal transport, later installing a 6,000-litre tank to make the first deliveries of heating oil and diesel. The company worked only in the sale of petroleum products until the second half of the 1990s, when it began to gradually abandon wood and coal and diversify into fuels. In 1996, the first service station was built in Courgenay, the first of a long list, as Jubin Frères took advantage of the abandonment of small stations by large oil groups to create its own network. In 2002, the company launched its own card.
