J.W. Jung founded a local seed business in Randolph, Wisconsin in 1907, after studying at Oshkosh Business College and working for a year at the H.W. Buckbee Seed Company in Rockford, Illinois. Starting from the family farm, he produced 400 copies on a small hand press. The company has since remained under family leadership into its fourth generation, and describes itself as serving its state through a family of local garden centers while reaching a nationwide community through catalogs and its online store.
