Overview

K-D Lab is a video game developer. Its official company history describes work on the Perimeter series, including the 2008 release of Perimeter 2, and the Vista Engine platform, on which the RTS Maelstrom was created as a custom project for Codemasters.

History

According to the company's official history, a contract was signed with 1C to create a continuation of Perimeter even before the release of the first part. After the departure of KRANK from K-D LAB in the summer of 2004, work on the sequel was suspended; however, obligations to 1C remained, and in 2008 Perimeter 2 was released at the company's own expense and in the shortest possible time. In 2008, the first product on the Vista Engine platform premiered: RTS Maelstrom, a custom project for the publisher Codemasters, resulting from two years of development. In the fall of 2005, an addition to Perimeter, Testament of the Emperor, went on sale.
