Korean Studies Information (KSI, 한국학술정보(주)) is a South Korean content and printing company founded in 1992 by Chae Jong-jun. Headquartered in Paju, Gyeonggi Province, it describes itself as a global content group that creates new value by spreading information. Its core business is the digitization and distribution of academic knowledge: it operates KISS (Koreanstudies Information Service System), one of South Korea's largest scholarly databases, which it launched as the country's first full-text academic search system. According to the company, KISS covers roughly 3,320 serial publications and about 1.35 million academic papers, and is used by around 750 institutions. Beyond databases, KSI has built a substantial publishing and printing operation. The company positions itself as a one-stop solution for publishing and printing, combining eco-friendly digital printing, small-batch production and offset printing capacity. It reports about 330 employees, six owned brands, 450 self-developed solutions, 7,200 published titles and business relationships in 30 countries. KSI has pursued international partnerships, including an early Asian partnership with Ingram and a World Bank Group publisher partnership. It has received various Korean brand and management awards, and holds certifications such as ISO 9001, IDEAlliance G7 Master and FSC-CoC. The company remains privately held and active, presenting itself as an Asian content leader bridging digital content and paper books.
