Overview
Liminal provides ultrasound and machine learning inspection solutions to elevate cell quality, improve cost and safety, and scale production confidently. The company has been working since 2015 to solve quality control challenges in battery R&D and cell manufacturing.
History
Liminal was founded in 2015 by top technologists from Princeton University and fellows in the Activate entrepreneurial fellowship program, in partnership with Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory’s Cyclotron Road Division. The company started with the idea that ultrasound could pick up on physical differences in battery cells and could be applied along the battery value chain. They then focused on improving cell manufacturing quality control.
