Lovato Electric

LOVATO Electric is an Italian company that designs and manufactures low voltage electrical devices for industrial applications. Founded in 1922 in Bergamo, it is a private company managed by the same family of entrepreneurs for four generations. Its product range covers motor protection and control, control and signalling, isolation and protection, automation and control, and energy management. The company operates through 15 branches abroad and a network of over 90 importers, making its products available in over 100 countries.

LOVATO Electric was founded in 1922 in Bergamo, Italy, to manufacture air-break and oil-break switches. In 1948, production transitioned from switches to bus-bar or terminal board contactors. In 1960, the company started production of one-piece contactors that gradually replaced the bus-bar or terminal board versions. A new factory, now the central headquarters, was opened in 1963 in Gorle (Bergamo), covering 14,000 m². In 1975, electronic product lines were added to the historical production of electromechanical components. The first foreign LOVATO Electric factory was opened in 1979. In 1989, LOVATO Electric Germany was opened, followed by LOVATO Electric United Kingdom in 1991. Over more than 100 years, the company has designed and manufactured low voltage electrical devices for industrial applications, and it remains a private company managed by the same family of entrepreneurs for four generations.
