Overview
Love One Another (Polish: Miłujcie się!; Russian: Любите друг друга!) is an international Catholic journal for young people. Its name is a quotation of the words of Jesus Christ: "love one another, as I have loved you" (John 15:12). The journal has been published since 1975, and its first editor was the priest Tadeusz Myszyński SChr. The main task of the journal is to form Christian convictions in young people on the basis of the "Social Action of Love" initiated by Cardinal August Hlond, whose "alphabet" was formulated by Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński. After the death of Tadeusz Myszyński in 1991, the Society of Christ decided to continue his work. The new editor of the journal became Father Mieczysław Piotrowski. In connection with the growing danger of demoralization of Christian youth, there arose a need to show a Catholic alternative to the youth lifestyle as an antidote to the influence of spiritually and psychologically destructive secular youth magazines, which had already become widespread in the early 1990s. The editorial board of Love One Another actively supports the Catholic youth Movement of Pure Hearts. In the journal one can read about faith in God, about the meaning and sense of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, about prayer, suffering and life's problems, as well as about discoveries confirming the Christian faith and about the signs that God gives to humanity. By 2022, the Polish edition Miłujcie się! was printed in a circulation of 220,000 copies, of which approximately one fifth was sent by the editorial board to Poles living abroad. In addition, by 2009 nine issues of the Russian-language version Любите друг друга! had already appeared, which are distributed free of charge in Catholic parishes in the countries of the former USSR. In 2022, the mission of Love One Another was taken over by the journal Trwajcie w miłości. The journal has been published in many languages. In 2009, Love One Another was published in ten languages: Polish, Russian, Ukrainian, English, German, Bulgarian, Hungarian, Romanian, Czech, and Slovak. By 2013, eight more language versions had appeared: Spanish, Latvian, Lithuanian, Portuguese, Finnish, Chinese, Armenian, and Amharic (Ethiopia). Online editions exist in Italian, Hebrew, and Arabic.
