Overview
MA Lighting is a German manufacturer of lighting control consoles. Founded in 1983 by Michael Adenau, the company has grown to become an international leader in computer-controlled lighting consoles and networking components. It operates with two entities: MA Lighting Technology in Waldbuettelbrunn for production, research and development, and MA Lighting International in Paderborn for marketing, distribution and technical support.
History
MA Lighting was founded in 1983 by Michael Adenau. In 1985, software specialist Ernst Ebrecht joined the company, and during this period MA introduced the Lightcommander 24 and Lightcommander 48 control desks. In 1988, with the LCD 120, MA Lighting shocked internationally established producers, and the LCD 120 began its first international tour with Mother's Finest. 1988 also marked the international debut of MA products at PLASA in London and LDI in Nashville. In 1992, the MA Scancommander caused a stir in the world of moving light control, establishing MA Lighting as a leading innovator in lighting control for the global touring and event sector. In 1995, MA set another standard with its touring dimmers.
