Meijer partners with Michigan food banks to provide emergency food
Meijer partnered with the Food Bank Council of Michigan and the state to help feed people turning to food banks during the COVID-19 crisis. Meijer donated $1.6 million in food products to food banks across Michigan.

Meijer adjusts store hours and adds dedicated shopping times
Meijer announced that it would adjust store hours beginning March 20, 2020, closing stores overnight at 10 p.m. and reopening at 8 a.m. It also scheduled dedicated shopping hours for seniors and customers with chronic health conditions on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and for essential service workers and Meijer team members on Mondays and Wednesdays. The company said the changes would allow more time for deep cleaning and restocking.

Meijer recalls mixed nuts over undeclared Brazil nuts
Meijer initiated a voluntary recall of 13,284 packages of mixed nuts after discovering they contained Brazil nuts not declared on the label. Customers were advised to discard or return the product for a full refund; no illnesses had been reported.
